About Us

Los Angeles is eclectic and so are the people within it. It isn't all fakeness and Hollywood wannabes. We don't drive Hummers. My breasts are real (thank you very much) and we aren't actors or even trying to be actors...or screenwriters or anything in the "industry" at all. None of our friends fit in these stereotypes either - wait, except the fake breasts (Hi Sarah!).

Josh is a Los Angeles native (yes, there is such a thing, not everyone comes here from somewhere else) born & raised. He did some time in the Bay Area for college and a brief stint in the freezing cold midwest (where he met me) but otherwise his home has been LA.

His parents still live in the same house he grew up in...which coincidentally is a few blocks from our current home. His dad was also born and raised here. How small town!

How I relate to Los Angeles isn't quite so simple. In fact, I hated it here for the first five years that I lived here. Hated it!

I fully admit it, I was one of those complainers that would call friends back home and complain about how much LA sucks. The people are fake, the traffic, the smog, the prices, blah, blah, blah all the obvious stuff people complain about because they are too lazy to discover the cool stuff and find their place here.

A few years ago something drastic happened. We had a baby. I got "nesty" and wanted to settle somewhere, wanted security, wanted to buy a house, etc. We started looking at all the other big cities to dig roots into and I realized that nowhere else would do. I love it here. Wait..I love Los Angeles? Me? The complaining LA hater?

Yep, this is where we want to raise a family. LA is where we'll stay.

Rather than get on my soapbox and tell you the "why" behind my Los Angeles change of heart, I give you this entire website. LA is complicated, as is our love affair with it. I hope you can find a place in your heart for it too.

Like I've said elsewhere, LA is a tough city to crack and the stuff you are looking for isn't going to smack you in the head. Nobody is going to hold your hand and tell you where to get the best burrito.

Well...except for us.
