Beverage Warehouse in Los Angeles

The Beverage Warehouse in Los Angeles is a big warehouse-styled (duh!) store in a seemingly crappy part of LA near the Marina. Don't let the ghetto exterior in a strange wholesale/warehouse mall fool you, the Beverage Warehouse is an excellent place to shop for your libations. No, this isn't a wine geek's paradise. Their selection of wine is a bit more hit and miss. But they always have a good selection.

While their inventory seems to turn over pretty quickly and you can never be sure what you will find when you show up, I have been frequently surprised by some very interesting stuff at very reasonable prices. Sometimes I walk away empty handed, only finding average stuff that doesn't excite me. Other times my eyes open up and I exclaim "Wow! I can't believe they have that!". Definitely a place to check out occasionally, especially if you need to pick up other beverages as well. Besides, its in the same spot as the LA Wine Company, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Besides the wine, this is, as the name implies, a great source for all types of beverages. Wine only fills about a third of the space, the rest being chock full of beer, spirits and a slew of other beverage and food-related stuff. Yes, big chains like BevMo carry many of the same spirits and beers, but their wine selection is generally dreck. Here you get both excellent wine and a wide selection of everything else. If you are planning a party or trying to stock up your pad, this is the place to go!
