Culver City Park (Veterans Memorial Park)

Culver City Park, also known as Veterans Memorial Park, is located at the intersection of Culver Blvd and Overland Ave. While nothing strikingly unique about this park it is a very pretty, fun neighborhood park with attractions for the whole family.

We first discovered this park when we went to a fair that was being held there. We had never been there before but were pleasantly surprised. We've gone back several times since. The park has lots of open space with trees and grass to run and play, but also has all the athletic amenities you'd expect in an LA area park.

Like most parks around there are ball diamonds and there are also tennis courts. There are picnic tables all around and even some under cover for those hot sunny summer days.

Being a family with kids, the play areas and structures are, of course, of importance to us. The Veterans Memorial Park has a great small play area right when you walk in from Culver Blvd. The thing that is nice about it is that the whole area is alternating sand and soft foam flooring, which makes for much less stressful playing on the climbing structures. Our 3 year old enjoys this park and we can let him run around without working about him too much (who are we kidding, we still worry, but that's what parents are for, right?)

All in all, this is a simple but satisfying park for kids play or just a picnic in the park.
