El Patio Restaurant, El Patio #2

From the outside, El Patio Restaurant #2 Drive-In is the sort of place you probably wouldn't pick. Nothing special about it and it is a tad confusing how the sign says "drive in" but it clearly is not a drive in. Maybe it once was? Not sure. Anyway, if you find yourself in Anaheim, check this place out for an amazing burrito experience.

They have assorted drinks in a display case that you grab yourself, including Jarritos which is at virtually every Mexican restaurant but I still get happy over it. We always get the carnitas wet burrito as shown below. A big, messy plate that requires a fork. No picking this thing up but the extra piled on sauces is worth the mess. Super flavorful made the old school way - right after you order.

The place is tiny, only a handful of booths and a counter to order. It usually has an eclectic mix of locals and people who drive all the way from Los Angeles (like us) just to eat there.

By the way, El Patio Restaurant got written up in 2010 for making one of the best burritos in Southern California by Sunset Magazine. For once we agree, so take their word for it if you aren't going to take ours.
