K & L Wine

K & L Wine is relatively new to the LA area but it has been a reliable retailer in other parts of California for years. Recently, they have opened a shop in Hollywood on Vine Street in a building that looks like it was an old bank.

K & L is an excellent all purpose beverage shop with a wide selection of wines and spirits from around the world. Most major regions are well represented including a decent selection of wines from Germany, Austria, the Loire Valley and others.

However, if I had to complain about something it is that in each region represented the depth of representation at any one time isn't tremendously deep. But they do stock many outstanding wines at any one time. For example, if you are looking for rare, interesting wines from small regions of Italy and Champagne a place like the Wine Expo may be a better pick. If you are looking for a wide selection of outstanding Burgundies, maybe Woodland Hills Wine Co. would suit you better. But if you are looking for an outstanding one-stop wine shopping place then K & L fits that bill very well.

On thing we should add about K & L is that they do have many wines available at their other stores which can always be transfered to the Hollywood location if they do not have it available currently.
