Los Angeles Neighborhoods

Los Angeles neighborhoods are what make this city so amazing. LA is like a whole bunch of unique cities all thrown together into one mega-giant metropolis. While this makes it difficult for outsiders to understand and navigate this is precisely what I love about it.

Why? Because there is a place for everyone here, a subsection of the city that will speak to you and will make you feel at home. Venture out into a new neighborhood and it is like visiting a totally different city just minutes away. You'll never get bored here if you are willing to leave your house.

All of the Los Angeles neighborhoods are so very different that it takes more than a lifetime to crack every single one of them. We can't possibly do justice to all of them, but over time we'll try! If you are local and love your neighborhood please contact us and tell us all about it.

venice neighborhood
Venice - Abbot Kinney
Coffee shops, people walking dogs and riding bicycles! Laid back, beach folks, colorful bungalows and beat up vintage VW buses.

The charming Abbot Kinney section of Venice is a popular neighborhood for its bohemian vibe and close proximity to Venice Beach. Land is expensive so lots are small (tiny backyards here unless you are a billionaire) and parking can be scarce. More...

venice neighborhood
Los Angeles Chinatown
Sure every big city has a Chinatown, but here is our very own version with a unique slice of Chinese culture.

Close to downtown and many other attractions, this funky little neighborhood is interesting, cheesy and even a bit ghetto wrapped up into one big egg roll. Whether you go for the history, the shopping or the unique foods (sea cucumber anyone?), its a fun stop for the whole family. More...

larchmont neighborhood
Larchmont Village
Quaint and independenty owned (well, mostly) shops on a cute little shopping street tucked away in one of LA's most preserved residential areas from the 1920s.

People here walk to the Sunday Farmer's Market and then grab coffee, bagels and a newspaper and chat with their neighbors. People are nice, shops are unique and the houses are historically preserved gems on huge grassy lawns. More...

manhattan beach la
Manhattan Beach
Upscale beach town jampacked with unique beach houses, great schools and over 40 acres of beach. The city itself covers less than four square miles. It is ridiculously expensive (think 2 million for an average home) but you get what you pay for in terms of location, views, schools and safety.

Many call it the "Beverly Hills" by the ocean due to the high end shops and general atmosphere which differs from the other beach towns. More...

third street promenade
Third Street Promenade
The 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica is a pedestrian-only strip of 3rd Street which is chock full of shops, restaurants and movie theaters, kinda like an outdoor mall. However, it can be more fun than all that.

The street performers can vary from average to downright fantastic. The crowds can get crazy on the weekends but it is a fun area to hang out and people watch and it is only minutes from other great Santa Monica attractions like the Santa Monica Pier. More...
