Newport Beach Fun Zone

The Newport Beach Fun Zone or Balboa Fun Zone brings back memories from my childhood! One of my best friend's family rented a house in Newport Beach, on Balboa Island, every summer and we all camped out on the living room floor, spending every day at the beach and every night partying it up at the fun zone!

It hasn't changed noticably since then.

Newport is a beautiful little beach community and a great destination near the LA area. The fun zone is a small area on the Balboa peninsula, only a short walk from the beautiful beach to the west, facing the lovely Newport Bay.

The Newport Fun Zone is like a mini-fair that operates year round, fully equiped with rides (including a carousel and Ferris wheel), fun fair food and restaurants, bars, games and arcades.

There are boat rides and tours of the bay that take off from the fun zone and of course the awesome Balboa Ferry that shuttles people and cars back and forth between the fun zone on the peninsula and the equally quaint Balboa Island.

If you are hungry for a treat, there are signs all over for a Balboa Bar and they are available from a number of shops. They were delicious, but don't take our word for it, ask our son what he thinks!

Nearby there are shops and dozens of restaurants and as I said earlier, the beach is only a couple blocks away. You can spend the whole day there enjoying the beach and food and then taking the kids to enjoy all the games and rides. It really is fun for the whole family!
