Norman's Rare Guitars

normans rare guitars As you can see, Normans Rare Guitars doesn't look very impressive from the outside. An insignificant little corner of a strip mall in Tarzana, next to a shoe store and a kid's hair cutting salon? Not the location you'd expect to find anything significant, fun or valuable. Yet inside is a dizzying collection of rare instruments that would make even a pianist swoon.

Okay, we admit, Josh is a guitarist and our little son seems to be a budding musician, but who wouldn't love to see all those years of musical history? Just about every type of classic guitar is represented from 50's Fender Strats to old Gretch hollow-bodies.

Now don't get us wrong, Normans Rare Guitars isn't a huge place. It's small. You can see the whole place in... uh, well... about 15 seconds. But what a 15 seconds! Its amazing how many vintage instruments they pack into this place.

Nor it is capable of filling a whole day's worth of family fun. But if you are anywhere in the area, and you have any interest in music, guitars or just discovering something new, drop in and take a look around. This isn't a chain with billions of new guitars like Guitar Center or Sam Ash, this is a boutique, rare-guitar gem that is worth a stop.

Have Fun!
