	Our Favorite Cheap Restaurants in LA AKA Hole-in-the-Walls that Rock! Note: Cheap restaurants in LA does not mean bad food. If you know where to look there are literally dozens of inexpensive restaurants that have unique, characterful and simply delicious food. Yes, LA has its share of fancy-schmancy and hip restaurants from the latest famous chefs, but that is for another place. Here you'll find some of our favorite places to eat around town which are cheap and easy. But beware, LA is a huge place. There are what seems like a gazillion restaurants all over. Not all of them are good. So don't count on just throwing a stone and hitting a great one. Sometimes the best take a little searching and turning over stones to find those rare gems hidden amongst the masses. And they are not always where you might think to look (ie. just because it looks small and crappy from the outside doesn't mean the food ain't awesome)! Yuca's Taco Stand is a tiny shack, located in a parking lot in the trendy Los Feliz neighborhood. But don't be fooled, this family-run business churns out some of the most delicious tacos in the LA area. Bring cash and sit outside on the little tables and scarf down a bunch of these little treats, made with four different traditional Mexican meat recipes including carne asada, machaca, carnitas and cochinita pibil. More... Mario's Restaurant: Peruvian & Seafood Mario's is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. Nothing impressive about this place from the outside, its wedged next to an abanadonded storefront and a radio shack in an ugly strip mall. But the food is flat out awesome! Even if you haven't had Peruvian food before, you'll find something to love here. Inexpensive but irresistable, this is one of our go-to places that we keep coming back to. More... In and Out Burger Yes, In and Out is a chain. But it is still an LA classic and deserving of our praise. Starting in 1948 in the LA area, this burger joint and drive-through does just burgers and does them well. Whether you just get a basic burger and fries or go for one of the specialties off their much guarded and mysterious "secret menu" (explained in detail on this page) this is highly recommended to the uninitiated. Fast food burgers don't get any better than this! More... El Abajeno One of our favorite mexican restaurants in LA, El Abajeno is traditional and cheap, serving huge portions of Mexican classics. Test your stamina with the gargantuan El Abajeno burrito or try a traditional favorite like menudo... its all good. Its in Culver City, off of Culver Blvd. where you might not think to look for an awesome Mexican restaurant, but this is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in LA. More... Mongols is a small restaurant in the Westwood/UCLA area which you absolutely must try. You basically just get a bowl. But what you pack in that bowl can create magic. It is inexpensive but you get a lot of food if you "pack your bowl" well. You make your own meal and watch it cooked on the huge traditional Mongolian grill. This place is both fun and delicious! Versailles Cuban No, there aren't millions of cuban restaurants around to compare with, but we can't imagine Cuban being any better than Versailles. Better yet, there are several locations in the LA area so you are never far from one. Make sure to get the maduros. Thats all we'll say. Everything else is delicious too so you can't go wrong. From seafood to slow-cooked pork, all with a heaping pile of rice and black beans, you can't go wrong. More...
