The Wine Club Santa Ana

wine club santa anaThe Wine Club Santa Ana is one of three Wine Club locations in California (the other two are in Santa Clara and San Francisco). Despite the name, this is not a "club", it is open to the public. While Santa Ana is not technically Los Angeles, it is nearby. It is south of LA so if you are visiting Disneyland or driving down to San Diego it is not far from your route.

The Wine Club is a good, all-purpose wine store with a good selection of most major wine producing regions. While they may not have really esoteric stuff from niche producers and regions (if you want little-known, traditional Italian wines, go to Wine Expo, for example) they have a solid selection of all the major areas you're looking for. The staff is generally very helpful and knowledgeable too.

The Wine club generally holds wine tastings on Saturdays and Sundays with varying themes. They are generally fairly priced and casual and a fun way to try new wines and explore their inventory.
