Underwood Family Farms

A visit to the Underwood Family Farms is a worthwhile family friendly day trip just an hour northwest of Los Angeles. It is a fantastic place to go to get out of the city and enjoy a real farm!

There are fields where you can "pick your own" and wagons to carry your crop (or kids) in. Strawberries in spring and pumpkins in fall! The best times to go in my opinion are either spring or fall - avoiding the hot, hot summer weather.

In addition to the fields there is a ton of stuff for the kids! You can purchase bags of carrots for a couple bucks at the entrance to feed the friendly animals, there is a petting zoo, a train to ride, a tricycle track and even stuff to climb on.

Don't forget to look up! There is a goat track that runs over the walkways and goats walk across over your head!

Lots of down home photo opportunities on hay bales or with a goat in the petting zoo. Plus, they have pony rides and daily shows where a worker brings out different animals that kids can pet and earn about.

There is also a gated play area where you can let the kids run wild with a sand pit and several play structures.

At the entrance there is a full farm stand complete with fresh fruits and veggies as well as cold beverages and other snacks for a picnic. It can be very dry here so we always bring our own extra water as we'll tend to drink a ton.
